Tiny House Community Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary

Tiny House Community Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary

One year ago, four tiny home owners came together to form “Simply Home Community” in Portland, Oregon. They created a community agreement, purchased a big house and parked their tiny sanctuaries in the backyard. We visited Simply Home Community in April and again in October this year. Their growth as a community over the past six months is impressive (and we’re not just talking about the garden)!

Advice for other Tiny House Communities

Both Tony and Karin stress the importance of their Community Agreement. They spent a lot of time discussing the logistics, chores, number of pets, responsibilities, rent payments, etc. with the other community members.

Where would you like to see a Tiny House Community?

It’s great to see a tiny home community model that works. Simply Home Community is an inspiration for other tiny home communities popping up all over Portland, Oregon, and the rest of the country. Personally, we can’t wait to watch and see how this community evolves over the years.

Hello everyone, I’d love to see tiny house community in Okanagan British Columbia. Now that would be a miracle in the making. Miracles do happen so I’ll just keep on dreaming.

I think this is fantastic! I would love to build a tiny house community here in Texas. I’ve approached my family about it but, unfortunately, I am the only family member that understands the benefits of the “tiny house” ?. Of course, I understand their feelings, also. One daughter has a husband, child and another on the way. One just bought her house, with her husband and son, and my son says NO WAY, even tho he is single, with no other immediate plans. Even my wife says no. But, maybe someday I will see my dreams come true?
