From Tour Bus to Dream Home: A Rapper’s Park Model Makeover

Former rapper LeShaun, known for her ’90s triple platinum hit “Doin’ It” with LL Cool J, has transformed a 40-foot park model RV into a stunning mid-century modern retreat. After learning she could thrive in small spaces during years on tour buses, LeShaun fully embraced tiny living—and her latest home renovation showcases how downsizing doesn’t mean sacrificing style or comfort.

The Journey to Dream     

LeShaun’s tiny living evolution began in 2,400 square feet, then downsized to “Jewel,” a 24-foot travel trailer under 200 square feet. While she loved the simplicity, her work as a photographer required long editing sessions, and Jewel lacked space for an ergonomically correct office chair. Enter “Dream”—a 406 square foot park model RV purchased under her $50,000 budget, leaving funds for a complete six-month gut renovation completed while living in the space.

Mid-Century Modern Magic

The design story started with a thrift store score: stunning mid-century modern lamps from a popular home goods store that sparked the entire aesthetic. LeShaun installed textured 3D wall panels, custom walnut-stained window valances, and decorative wood slats with an oversized mirror. A peel-and-stick stone tile fireplace surround houses both a heater and TV, while insulating window shades block summer heat beneath traditional blinds. Bay windows flood the lounge with natural light, making it her favorite feature.

The dining area showcases a DIY tulip table—LeShaun’s dream piece—created using a coffee table base filled with sand and gold accents to evoke the Milky Way. A battery-operated chandelier adds ambiance without complicated wiring. One window was sacrificed to display “Eden,” a black-and-white photograph of LeShaun’s model daughter that serves as striking wall art.

A Kitchen Worth Talking About

LeShaun could “literally talk about this kitchen for an hour.” She installed a tea and coffee station, stainless steel backsplash with copper accents, and Black Steel laminate countertops that match her black stainless sink (though she warns dark surfaces show every water spot). The oversized sink includes a matching cutting board and drain rack, plus a genius feature: a custom countertop insert that drops in to create seamless buffet space when entertaining.

Her custom-built island provides additional workspace, topped with lightweight Ikea BESTÅ cabinets—a practical choice for RV walls that can’t support heavy fixtures. An apartment-size five-burner range and refrigerator (both Facebook Marketplace finds) complete the setup. The oven? Pure storage space for her air fryer.

Smart Space Solutions Throughout

The office features deep Ikea kitchen cabinets repurposed with door-top countertops, providing ample workspace without custom cabinetry costs. The bathroom received an 80% overhaul with a unique vessel sink, tray-in-sink counter space hack, refaced cabinets, full-size washer-dryer, and spa-like shower with teak mat and skylight.

The bedroom underwent complete transformation. LeShaun removed wall-to-wall closets, installing deep metal office cabinets that accommodate standard hangers while looking like wood furniture. Long mirrors expand the space visually. The bed sits lengthwise against a DIY insulated headboard that blocks unnecessary windows, resting on shortened slider-side legs for level positioning.

Living Debt-Free and Unapologetically

LeShaun owns Dream outright and makes no apologies for her lifestyle choice. As she reminds critics: living alternatively, within your means, in an RV park or tiny home community is nobody’s business but your own. This is her home base—designed perfectly for her needs.
